My predictions are as followed:
1-Johnny Colt leaves a pleading email message to come back to Rich which he doesn't get for it's filed under spam
2-Jeff Cease stalks Steve Gorman on Lower Broad in front of Toosties
3-Ed Harsch sends Chris alien in a dream to let him know he's ready to be in the band again
4-Marc Ford faxes over a 5 page letter explaining himself and how faxing his 2 week notice was a bad idea, a big mistake and how he will never ever do it again...

What's yours?

re: thread title:

---20 ALL acoustic shows as a pre-tour in late-late May/June (in honor of their 20th anniversary)

---3 hour 2-set HEADLINE shows (NOT festival), 1st set acoustic/2nd set electric July thru late December, ending in (???, I'm not telling that one)

---a 3-5 YEAR hiatus at the conclusion of the tour, so Peter can CASH IN on a 25th Annieversary tour with hungry-again fans.

then again, what the FUCK do I know?

(one of the above is a strong rumor, the other 2 are dead-on certain)

oh yeah, my guess is that the album will drop on June 1 too...

with love,

sonik

re: thread title... I thought "the SYMM 20th Anniversary Tour" was a joke...

It is not?

I was being funny... sorta... I would think this band who probably doesn't really take notice about how long they've been around would be a "joke". I think they appreciate it greatly but I think any anniversary like this or another band is just a selling point. You know the label heads told them... d'oh! THEY ARE THE LABEL... you know "let's get everyone back together for old time's sake" (ouch I hate that... it's so pathetic.)
Well anyways JayB-my initial idea was to be cruel.
For Example: Rich comes back 40 lbs lighter and shaves off the beard and begins to smirk again.
Chris starts dressing like he did when By Your Side came out.
Steve shaves his head... stuff like that.
But I thought I'd hold back...

Where does the time go?

Besides me, Roman Rambler, (50 years old in July) who else jumped on the band
wagon for SYMM 20 years ago?

Besides Steve Ray Vaughn back in 1983, (I met SRV on that 1st national tour) The Black Crowes are the only band I've followed from the beginning of their 1st national tour and am still on board. My last show was 9-11-09. 1st show was the opener for ZZ Top in Albany. Feb 5, 1991.

Where will my next show be? With the Hampton date, I am assuming the Boys will be on the East coast for a few more shows.

Long shot that I make it over to New Hampshire.

Aye, I did indeed. First gig: 19 September 1991 - Nighttown - Rotterdam, Holland

Mine was 2/13/93. What a mindblowing rock and roll band that was.

Yeah man, the first tour was ok, but that second tour blew me away! And the Amorica Or bust one too.

mine was in 1991 opening up for someone ... can't remember that either and either does Crowesbase.... so maybe I am not the ultimate fan after all.
Damn.

Yep - I'm old too. First show was at Universal in 1990 I think opening for Robert Plant. Great show - Plant was killer that tour.

Just checked Crowesbase - it was either October 30 or 31. I wish I kept ticketstubs and/or had Glenn's spreadsheet of rock.

Saw em in 1990 at Greatwoods open for Aerosmith. Being 14 we needed a parent. So my buddies dad who was the "cool dad" brought us. He wanted to see Aeresmith, me and a childhood pal were there to see the Crowes. Dont remember much because that cool dad gave us one skinny bone for the whole day night. It worked.

No, ok, I would take anything on public television over youtube anyday.
