Anyone heard these guys?

Saw Rival Sons the other day and this Canadian band called the Sheepdogs was the opening band. I liked them a lot! Cool songs and great sound! Some kind Allman and Skynyrd thing but a little bit more relaxed.

I did and I liked their sound but I wasn't sure they would come out with anything more original sounding later....
Do they have anything pretty new out?

They have a record out since last year called Changing Colors. I wouldn't call it original sounding at all. It has the sound of a lot of old bands, but a little bit laid back. I keep thinking it has a little bit of the feel of the Dazed And Confused-movie. Saw them open for Rival Sons, which is a great band but in comparison take themselves a little bit too seriously

But there are good songs and they play well! I saw a video of the guitar player doing the slide parts of Whipping Post with a beer bottle and sounding great.

You can't go wrong with some Sheepdogs. Like you've said, they aren't really breaking any new ground but what they do they do extremely well. I've seen them live a handful of times and it's always been a great show with the right amount of jamming for a good ol rock show. If you don't know their albums check out Learn and Burn and their self titled one.

It's good. Definitely worth checking out if you like some good rock n roll live.
